Background
Overview
UPSC frequently tests the foundational principles of the Indian Constitution, the functioning of its institutions, and challenges to democratic governance. Non-implementation of judicial orders directly questions the efficacy of the judiciary and the adherence to constitutional principles by the executive.
The Rule of Law is a fundamental principle of governance, asserting that all individuals and institutions, including the government, are accountable to laws that are publicly promulgated, equally enforced, and independently adjudicated. It mandates that the executive branch must act within the bounds of law and respect judicial pronouncements.
