The Ministry of Minority Affairs is a government ministry in India which was carved out of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and created on 29 January 2006. It is the apex body for the formulation of overall policy and planning, coordination, evaluation and review of the regulatory and development programmes for the welfare and upliftment of the minorities.
