Zorawar Light Tank

An indigenous 25-tonne, air-transportable combat vehicle designed for rapid deployment and operations in high-altitude regions along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

Development Collaboration

The Zorawar tank is jointly developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and L&T Defence.

Project Ranjeet (FRCV)

A program to replace ageing T-72 tanks with approximately 1,700-1,800 next-generation Main Battle Tanks (MBTs) over the next decade.

Strategic Imperative

India faces a unique challenge of preparing for conventional warfare in plains (Pakistan) and armoured operations in the high Himalayas (China), necessitating specialized platforms like Zorawar.
